Hu “SwordArT” Shuo-jie is currently the top support in the LMS and came second in MVP voting last summer. He has arguably been the largest contributor to Flash Wolves’ domestic success the last two years. Despite consistently sitting at the top of the LMS, this was SwordArT’s first All-Star selection since his debut in 2013.
Esports Heaven had a chance to sit down and talk with the world renowned support after the event.
How did it feel to be selected as an All-Star for the first time?
Of course, I was very happy to be selected, but it came with a lot of responsibility to be representative of my region. There was a lot of pressure, so I practiced a lot.
What made LMS perform so well at this event?
Everybody did well on an individual level and in laning. Since it was mostly BO1, we had a very good chance of performing well and winning one game.
You were recognized as the best support and came very high in MVP voting.
Personally, I don’t feel like I’m one of the best supports in the world yet. I’ve only been recognized so much because I haven’t competed face to face with other regions; supports.
Recently, your team made a lot of roster changes. What do you think of the new players your team is adding?
When I first started to train with them, I felt a lot of passion in their game. If they keep going with this passion and focus, they all have potential to be at the top of the league.
What do you think about Karsa leaving Flash Wolves and LMS?
I am very grateful to Karsa for leaving the team to challenge himself and the team. I will just have to do a lot better, too.
How will the team adapt to playing with a new jungler?
It’s not really about having the team adapt to the jungler; it’s the other way around. The jungler is going to have to step up and improve his personal skills to slowly adapt to the team environment.
How do you think Flash Wolves will do next year in LMS?
It’s going to be a very tough situation, but if everyone steps up and plays their game, we should have a very good chance of winning. I think the new top laner will have a lot of potential.
What was your favorite All-Star moment?
It would probably be the moment that we beat LCK. When we beat them, we were like “what?! We just beat LCK!” It was amazing.
