With relegation shortly around the corner, it’s make or break for tenth-placed North American League of Legends Championship Series’ Team Coast. In the past, the team has been known for making rash decisions when in a rough spot, notably with their imports of Korean players, Sangkyun “Ringer” Park & Yongwoo “Miracle” Park, resulting in failure in the Spring Promotion Tournament in the early fall of 2014.
Well, Coast is back at it again. The team recently replaced European mid laner import, Jesse “Jesiz” Le with former Vulcun/XDG mid laner, Zachary “Mancloud” Allan Hoschar in attempts to turn things around and avoid auto-relegation; however, this move has shown no improvement of success, with not a single game won since the replacement took place. This time though, Team Coast is looking at other prospects, as well as expanding their own brand to the North American Challenger Series.

Sources close to the organization tell Esports Heaven that the “deal is sealed” and Team Coast has now purchased the current second placed Challenger team Final Five. Prior to this split, Final Five was best known for their run in the 2015 North American Expansion Tournament, of which they failed to qualify for LCS to Team Coast themselves. In the off-season, the team made some roster changes though, specifically replacing jungler Ryan “ShorterACE” Nget with Simon "heavenTime" Jeon and AD Carry Marko “Prototype White” Sosnicki with Kim "Veritas" Kyoun-gmin. They also recently (within the past few weeks) have replaced support player Brice “Rule18” Wilkerson with Kevin “KonKwon” Kwon. Since these adjustments, Final Five have clinched their spot as the second place NA Challenger Series, sitting right below series favorite, Enemy eSports.
With the acquisition of the team, sources also report that there is a massive roster change impending – so bear with us as it’s difficult to explain. The LCS roster, Team Coast, will now consist of 2 unknown Korean players in the top lane and the jungle (replacing Cris & Impaler), sources say, as well as current mid laner Zachary “Mancloud” Allan Hoschar, current AD Carry Brandon “MashMe” Phan, and current Final Five support Kevin “KonKwon” Kwon.

Additionally, the Final Five (now owned by Coast) roster is also experiencing a major shake-up. The remaining players are Keenan “Rhux” Santos in the top lane, Austin “Gate” Yu in the mid lane, and Kim “Veritas” Kyoun-gmin at AD carry. Joining them will be current Coast players, Matt “Impaler” Taylor in the jungle and Jamie “Sheep” Gallagher at support. Since the main team is nearly locked in for auto relegation, this new, modified Final Five challenger team will be Coast’s chance to once again make it into the LCS via Challenger Series promotion.
To clarify, the rosters are:
Team Coast (current 10th LCS):
“CST Yrdraziw” – Top Lane (Diamond I Korean Player)
“CST Shrimp” – Jungle (Master Korean Player)
Zachary “Mancloud” Allan Hoschar – Mid Lane
Brandon “MashMe” Phan – AD Carry
Kevin “KonKwon” Kwon – Support
Final Five (current 2nd Challenger, now owned by Coast organization):
Keenan “Rhux” Santos – Top Lane
Matt “Impaler” Taylor – Jungle
Austin “Gate” Yu – Mid Lane
Kim “Veritas” Kyoun-gmin – AD Carry
Jamie “Sheep” Gallagher – Support
When approached, Team Coast members respectively declined to comment. Final Five management has yet to comment, however Esports Heaven has reached out to the organization owners. Esports Heaven will keep you up-to-date as the story develops.
