Streaming is quickly becoming the dominant form of income for many eSports pros and personalities, this much we know, and if you’re looking to stream then Twitch is the accepted gold standard at this point in time. However, there are always options, and one of the more previously controversial companies to rival Twitch have just launched a new iteration of their product, with Azubu 3.0 coming out this week.
According to their press release, 3.0 includes shiny new UI and broadcaster options, and will be entirely open platform by the end of June, which is a break from the previous focus on ‘premium content’ and brings the LA firm alongside Twitch operationally. Boasting ‘new Module design offer[ing] an innovative, quick, and visually attractive way for broadcasters to customize their page’, it remains to be seen whether these changes can bring the firm alongside the aforementioned Twitch, but they do speak to a growing conviction that Azubu can still rival the purple giant in the growing stream market.
Also promising ‘better support for broadcasters, including 24/7 customer support through chat’, there is clearly a lot of potential with this new platform to rival the occasionally sluggish service offered elsewhere, but the company have lost a few key partnerships recently and there are no guarantees. The initial reaction across the internet has largely been positive toward the new features, although there is some scepticism about the chances of rivalling the market leaders, but Azubu are at least trying to learn from the best and this is probably a step in the right direction for the firm and their customers.
