Many brands that viewers have grown familiar with may just be a figment of our imagination in the coming spring split. Having started in the beginning of 2015 when Curse Academys roster was acquired after qualifying for the North American LCS, Gravitys history within the league may be coming to an end.
Exceeding expectations and grounds set by other fresh orgs entering, Gravity started off 5th plcae in the spring season, excelling to a fourth place finish in the summer season, but not before almost knocking Cloud 9 out of the regionals until being reverse-swept in the set. In an interview with TheScore, team manager Jake "Ginko" Fyfe stated that the teams owner, Davis "Samurai" Vague, invested in the LCS at an opportune time, which allows him to withdraw from his commitment with little to nothing lost.
The prices of LCS teams have increased drastically, hense the the purchase of former Team 8, Team Impulse, and potentially Team Coast. Due to the several new investors breaking into the scene, we will be seeing four new organizations entering the North American LCS, with five being a possibility.
