Dota 2 The Lima Major 2023: Teams, format and more

  The first 2023 Dota 2 major is almost here! Between the 22nd of January and the 5th of March, eighteen teams will be putting it all on the line for the $500,000 prize pool in the Lima Major 2023. Here's all you need to know about the Teams, Format and more.  

Dota 2 The Lima Major Teams

  Eighteen teams from six different regions will have a chance in the first major of the year, and the first major ever to be hosted in South America. Here are the squads:  

 

Format

 
  • The tournament is divided into two phases: Group Stage and Playoffs.
  • Group Stage takes place between the 22nd and the 26th of February. The eighteen teams are split into two groups of nine.
  • Matches are Bo2 in a single round-robin, with six teams from each group qualifying for playoffs. The bottom three teams from each group are eliminated.
  • The top four teams from each group automatically advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, and 5th and 6th place teams will go to the lower bracket.
  • Playoffs will take place between the 28th of February and the 5th of March. It is a double-elimination bracket with BO3s for every match except the Grand Finals, which is BO5.
 

Dota 2 The Lima Major Prize pool and DPC Points

  The prize pool for The Lima Major 2023 is $500,000 USD and 1,900 Dota Pro Circuit points. The winner will get the biggest slice of the pie, heading home with $200,000 USD and 400 DPC points.

  Edit: The English Broadcast Talent for the Lima Major has been announced. Kindly check it here. 4D Esports and Epulze, the tournament organizers for this Major, haven't announced the schedule and the broadcast talent just yet. You'll be able to find that information here when it becomes available. The stream links haven't been shared yet either, but they'll likely be the same ones these organizers have used in their past tournaments. For the English broadcast, they'll likely be the following:
