eSports Heaven has learned that Brawl eSports has continued their aggressive expansion into StarCraft II by signing Valentin “Zeal” Monfort-Schaeffer. Zeal has previously gone by other aliases including Ruin and AiuR, and was formally part of Team Ascension commonly known by their TASC clan tag, but he left his former team in 2014. Zeal has hovered at the edge of the pro scene making it as far as the Ro 37-44 at MLG Anaheim in 2014 where he defeated players like SeleCT to make a relatively deep run in the open bracket. His most notable achievement to date is easily his recent run through the WCS Qualifiers where he was able to qualify for Challenger League.
This move is one of the latest in Brawl eSports continued investment in StarCraft II. Two of their most notable recent signings include the top Mexican player Jamie Arturo “JimRising” Duran Silencio and the Polish Terran player Piotr “souL” Walukiewicz. Brawl eSports has built a solid roster of at least Challenger tier players, and for Zeal the true test of his mettle will come in the following days when he plays last season's runner up DongWon “hydra” Shin.
