CLG announces changes to the mid lane, drama ensues

Perhaps a taste of drama unrivaled in the recent world of League of Legends eSports, CLG's most controversial and criticized player, Link, is no longer a part of the mid lane in favor of a supposedly rotating line-up.

Having been with the team since the dawn of LCS and as a member of the organization for over three years playing for CLG Black, Austin 'Link' is one of the team's longest standing veterans.  Link has always been a player that has shown great prowess and potential in the regular season but had habitually "choked" in important matches and playoff matches with the exception of his stint with Cloud 9 during the 2014 All-Stars competition.

Today, CLG has officially announced the departure of Link, who will now have Eugene 'Pobelter' Park formerly of Winterfox and Jae Hyun 'HuHi' Choi formerly of Team Fusion and Bigfile Miracle in his place.  Both of the new players had statements regarding their inclusion into the line-up.  Pobelter and Huhi, respectively, go on to say:

"I have much respect for each CLG member, and am excited for this opportunity to work alongside them. I believe that with the help of CLG's talented coaching staff we can achieve greatness this upcoming split. Thank you to all of my fans as well as CLG's for the support; I will try my hardest!"

“I think I have finally got to a point where I can show everyone what I am capable of. I’ll never lose this motivation that I have right now and never gain an ego. People might be confused and think that I am a sub and will not probably play for CLG in the LCS but we are going to use two mid laners like SKT T1. I think it can be really good because not only can me and Pobelter discuss a lot about how to play mid and play each other, but also we can take care of each other when one of us gets stressed.”

Link also had a statement regarding his departure:

“It has been a huge pleasure working with the CLG organization, especially George. It has given me a lot of fond memories, but unfortunately the time has come for us to part ways. I'll be making a more in depth post on why I'm leaving elsewhere.”

...And an in-depth post he did indeed make.  Following this announcement, the former Counter Logic Gaming mid-laner released a 17 page piece of text regarding his experiences with the teams, calling out the root issues as well as individual problems that plagued the team in his time with the squad. "He only sees his lane and fails to extend his vision past what is right and what is necessary. The bigger picture is all that matters." he states as an excerpt, going on to additionally state "He’ll trust teammates in the beginning and let jungler go top or mid or elsewhere but at some point something is going to relate to him. It’s what has happened for the past 2-3 years. When playoff approaches somehow it becomes his responsibility to step up and ruin the dynamic of the team that everyone was working on for the entire split."

Other claims were put onto his team and organization such as harsh criticisms of Montecristo's coaching performance and communication issues between former jungler Dexter and former top lane Korean import Seraph. As expected, this response caused an uproar in the community and prompted a lengthy response from Doublelift himself. In this post, Doublelift tries to clarify things from his point of view, while admitting to some of the faults claimed in Link's piece.  However, the drama doesn't stop here as many others feel prompted to post their opinion, including former support/jungler/everything Steven 'Chauster' Chau.
