In the midst of match-fixing allegation, French organisation, Epsilon Esports, have decided to release two of the players implicated in the scandal: Kevin "Uzzziii" Vernel and Joey "fxy0" Schlosser.
Things have moved fast for the Epsilon team since January 29, with the release of former in-game leader, Robin ‘GMX’ Stahmer. Following his release GMX posted a cryptic tweet, with a picture from a cartoon featuring a main character holding an explosive with the caption: "I drop it, or not :D?"

At this point, it was clear that GMX harboured ill will towards some of his former team mates: "I won't wish them good luck."
GMX then decided he would 'drop the bomb', making this statement to French site, Varkarm.net: "In last September, we deliberately lost our ESEA match against OverGaming in order to win skins for ourselves and for friends of us. All of my team mates and some of their friends were aware of this. We however did not planned this together, and every player acted on its own to get their skins back. I won some skins via a friend on this match, and I know some of my team mates also won skins."
GMX has since confirmed the statement; however, amending his statement to confirm that Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom was not involved, and that he too was involved in the incident.
GMX also stated that Epsilon would be his last competitive team, effectively retiring from competitive Counter Strike.
Epsilon would launch their own investigation on February 1, stating: "We at Epsilon had absolutely no prior information about this situation and were as shocked to read this as everyone else." Before continuing that they would suspend the team, pending the results of the Valve and ESEA investigation.
Two days later, the fates of the two of the three remaining players would become clear, with both Uzzziii and fxy0 being removed from the team just a week before the offline qualifier for ESL One in Katowice.
Fxy0 confirmed in a Facebook post that he and Uzzziii, as well as the other players involved, would be unable to compete in any major events for the next year.
