While the team is rebranded, Eugene 'Pobelter' Park is the only returning member of the 2014 Spring Split Evil Geniuses squad. Accompanying him from the previous Summer Split is AD Carry Johnny 'Altec' Ru and Dongjin 'Helios' Shin. With the departure of top laner Tyson 'Innox' Kapler and support Mitch 'Krepo' Voorspoels, Donghyeon 'Avalon' Shin and Heyonsu 'Imagine' Jang have overtaken each of their roles respectively.
The team's mid laner made a statement regarding the transition:
Hello. Some fans of EG last year may be wondering why our team is making changes coming into this next split, given that we looked pretty damn good in the last week of LCS. Allow me to explain: despite our strong finish in the regular season, we did end up in 7th place both splits last year. We swept Coast to regain our spot in the LCS, but there was little camaraderie and confidence in each other's play and team morale was at rock bottom. I hope that fans of EG last season can understand the necessity of the roster changes that have been made.
We have been hard at work here in Korea, where we have been trying to prepare for the upcoming season for the past month. I have no idea how we will stack up against other NA teams once we return, yet I believe we will improve immensely as the season progresses, and even if the results aren't there immediately, they will be. We will try our best to interact with the community as well as put out good results. Our top laner, Avalon, seems especially eager to begin streaming and making fans in spite of the language barrier.
Looking towards the future, we want to make all of our fans proud to have Winterfox icons, flairs, and spirit. We're five laidback dudes that are driven to win a lot in the LCS and have fun doing it. Keep supporting us and we'll make you proud in 2015!
There's been speculation of Krepo eventually taking over the support role for the team at some point away from Daerek 'LemonNation' Hart while the former moves on to serve a coaching role. However, no evidence currently supports this.
