Yesterday, the hopes and dreams of North American fans were reinvigorated with the early wins of first seed Counter Logic Gaming and gauntlet-qualifying team Cloud 9 against their Taiwanese opponents. Today, Team Solomid started off the day with a historically pummeling mismatch against KT Rolster B, Korea's second seed.
Everything was brought back to normal with Dyrus giving up first blood and his team inadequately adapting to his disadvantage. In addition, the team was already heavily disadvantaged in drafts, where, outside of Ssumday, the entire line-up of KT Rolster had preferred picks. Despite this, Bjergsen put up a great fight in lane against Nagne, handily defeating him but later not utilizing the lead in a crucial baron teamfight that left Team Solomid shattered. Bjergsen used his advantage to blow all of his cooldowns on a durable, ulted Alistar, practically doing nothing with his burst.
While Team Solomid showed some promise with early dives, KT Rolster handily dismantled Team Solomid at almost all points of the game. CLG will look to pad the scores of North America against an easier opponent in paiN Gaming to close out the show today while TSM works on their composure in their preparation for Origen tomorrow.
