In what was one a closer series where EDG edged out slightly, SKT makes short work of EDG, putting on a display that made it look easy.

Outwitted and outplayed, SKT T1 triumph over the other favorite to win the tournament, Edward Gaming.  With their defeat, future teams will surely take a look at first-picking Darius, which has been constantly abused all tournament with this game being the highlight of them all. With a stunning display, MaRin was able to play a nearly perfect game, shutting down EDGs starting top-laner AmazingJ, who replaced Koro1 before Worlds.

While EDGs early game was alright, it wasnt enough to snowball, and put the resources in the wrong places.  Taking an early first dragon doomed EDG to fall behind in EXP during the laning phase, which was swiftly abused.  Poor drafting and preparation from EDG spelled their demise. Alas, Deft and Meiko formed a potent duo lane performance and Faker was the victim of first blood, but it wasnt enough of an advantage for the Chinese powerhouse.

Its important to note that in both the MSI group stages and the playoffs where SKT and EDG last met, SKT won both of those games as well; however, SKT is looking stronger than ever, and Fakers post-game interview expresses his thoughts on a kink in Chinas armor this year.
