The former World Championship Series Europe champion, Jang 'MC' Min Chul, has today announced that he will be retiring from professional Starcraft 2. After playing his last games for Trig esports, MC announced his retirement on Twitter, stating that his motivation and skill had been dropping since living alone. 

Most famous for his days on SK Gaming, MC has made his name as one of the most personable and accomplished Protoss players on the Starcraft 2 scene. 

MC started his career with Old Generations, before playing the majority of his career with SK Gaming. He then was without a team for a few months, before being picked up by Trig esports. In his career, he has been a GSL Champion, a WCS Champion and placed top four at a number of premier level tournaments. 

In his time as a professional gamer, MC has racked up an impressive $454,756 in prize money, as well as any salary that he was given. This makes him the highest earning Starcraft 2 player in history. 

It wasn't just his playing skill that made him popular with the fans however, as he became known for his commentary as one of the Korean players with above-average English skills. He also became known for dressing up, including dressing up as WWE superstar, The Undertaker, during a group selection ceremony in Korea. 

MC will retire as one of the most accomplished Starcraft 2 Protoss players.
